A Bit About Me

Hello and welcome!

My name is Caitlin and I'm the designer and artist at Lamrock Digital Media and Beak n' Brush Original Artwork. I'm a medically-retired Canadian Forces medical technician, farmer, mom to Gwendolyn and Wife to Stacey.

​

Stacey and I met in Alberta while I was posted to Cold Lake and she was living in Edmonton.  Age old romance... PlentyOfFish, timeless.  We had a whirlwind romance and turned each others worlds upside down in so many beautiful ways.  Our entire relationship has been a journey of self discovery and growth.  I believe that we are better for having met each other.

Together, Stacey and I have made huge life changes from leaving secure jobs and beliefs about who we were, moving across the country, buying a home together and having a beautiful baby girl. Stacey has stood by me through some of my darkest times and she's helped me to discover who I am and who I'm meant to be.  

​

About 5 years ago, I was going through a particularly dark time. I knew I had to find myself because I was so close to losing myself for good but it was so overwhelming. So I started with something that always felt like home when I was a kid, art.  First I started with pencil crayons, then pastels, watercolour, acrylics and finally digital media.

​

Honestly, it was such a beautiful thing and I was so happy to have it back in my life. It kind of felt like I had discovered a little piece of who I am. Just a small piece of the puzzle.  

​

There was still something missing and it took me 5 years to find it. 

​

I wanted to take back control of my life. My time in the military had shaped me into a being that believed I would never be more than a minion to someone else's big picture. It broke me and took away something I've always associated with my identity.  My career was something that defined me and gave me purpose.  I worked hard to be a paramedic, soldier and qualified medical technician. It made up a huge part of who I felt I was. When I was no longer able to work, I felt like someone put me in the ocean and cut my line back to shore.

I had to be creative about regaining that sense of purpose.  After exploring many different avenues, I knew art was my only option but I couldn't figure out how to turn my love of art and need for purpose into something functional.

​

And so here we are, Lamrock Digital Media. My love of art combined with my love of helping people take their own control back and thrive. Alongside LDM is Beak n' Brush Original Artwork, where I still get to venture into whimsy, colour and beauty.  All of this collectively known as Lamrock Creative.

I bring an empathetic and understanding approach to branding strategy along with creative and out of the box thinking.
